Contribuţii la dispersia poluanţilor în medii acvatice saturate

Abstract: While water quality became a worldwide emerging problem and pollution sources have increased their numbers and dimensions, the analysis of pollution events and the practical methods for decontamination became more and more interesting for science world. How do we approach a real problem related to the impact of pollution sources on groundwater involves inter-disciplinary studies in order to establish methods that would reduce the negative impact or would lead to de-pollution. Starting from a summary of the groundwater pollution researches, this study presents theoretical, numerical and experimental results obtained for an aquifer pollution case as well as a decontamination method. Experiments for the pollution and decontamination of a phreatic aquifer have been analyzed in this study and the results were used to calibrate a mathematical model that would describe the flow and dispersion of pollutants in a porous saturated environment. During the analysis we took into account the adsorption effect, and the retardation phenomenon. For aquifer decontamination experiment we calculated the efficiency of the process. The laboratory results can be extended to analyze the decontamination possibilities of a real groundwater aquifer.
