Abstract: REQUIREMENTS FOR SPECIAL GOODS TRANSPORT Abstract Through this paper the author has proposed to study the peculiarities of goods in terms of shipments witch requires special measures, particularly dangerous goods, goods which by their properties during transport can cause major negative effects for the population, the natural and human environment. The problem confronting the negative effect witch the transport has it on the two modes: rail and road transport, the environment has been an important goal in the last decades due to reversible link between environment, health and human-trafficking. The main objective of the research conducted in this thesis was to analyze the risks that may generate dangerous goods during transport. Research conducted at both national and european, has identified a profile of accidents involving road and rail transport of dangerous goods and the examination of factors such as geographical area, cause, type of transport and type of dangerous goods being transported, the likelihood of accidents.We conducted a case study on risk assessment that may occur when conducting transport dangerous goods by rail (liquefied petroleum gas), showing analytically how population density, type of cargo and route design influences the likelihood of an accident with fatalities . This paper makes a conceptual clarification of special goods transport by an analysis of the state of research in the field of road and rail transport of dangerous goods, methods of risk assessment of accidents in which dangerous goods were involved. Throught the theoretical and practical aspects highlighted in the paper, the findings of the study presents a risk response plan. The usefulness of this thesis can be found by addressing both theoretical and practical studies conducted by two of the most important modes of transport: road and rail. The case study allows confirming the theoretical treatment of the topic in the thesis, and a further expansion of such studies will be the starting point of the research, a tool to check.
