Abstract: Vulnerability management of critical nuclear infrastructures subminated Abstract Current paperwork, divided into eight chapters, bibliography and appendices is based on the analysis of the current status of critical nuclear facilities on national and international level. Inconsistencies identified in this analysis led to the formulation of issues to be addressed in current thesis, issues mentioned within Research Purpose section, namely: proposing a set of rigorous unanimous criteria for defining critical infrastructure; building a critical infrastructure identification method, also rigorous and general, to be based on the proposed criteria; performance management approach to critical infrastructure safety in order to proactively reduce holistic vulnerabilities; synthetic building of assessment models for multiple threat, total risk and catastrophic damage; synthesizing informational systems in a form which allows the anticipation of significant unrecoverable loss incidents; mathematical formalization of leading the critical nuclear infrastructure in fuzzy concept, appealing to operational design of research in five directions (sustainable development, trade and financial activities, production, human resource reconfiguration), including the construction of optimization decisions for nuclear units equipped with nuclear critical infrastructure; framing of critical nuclear facilities in the national and international digital economy context; addressing the experimental part of the thesis on the actual structure from Cernavoda NPP to diagnose the operational regime and to reduce vulnerabilities. Solving this issue makes use of new mathematical models and novel software products dedicated to critical nuclear facilities management towards generating solutions that can streamline their operation.
