Abstract: The paper deals with hydraulically units displacement units which are used within the structure of industrial robots. The first part of the paper is a short history of the robots’ development, a structural-functional analysis, as well as an explanation upon them, rendering evident the importance of the displacement axes as execution parts within a robot’s structure. After analyzing in parallel the displacement units worldwide a structure is determined for a hydraulically driven displacement unit; on its basis an experimental model is developed. The static and dynamic performances of this model are experimentally determined in a specialized hydraulic laboratory. The equations are given for the mathematical model of the displacement unit and a transfer function is determined which is necessary in numerical simulation of its theoretical behavior. The fact that the experimental curves and those resulted from numerical simulation overlap validated the mathematical model developed by the author. The papers present a intelligent implementation approach in units displacement with automatic according of the electronic regulators parameters with system requests, of experimental results and according results in identification process.
