Contribuţii privind determinarea porozităţii primare a aliajelor de aluminiu

Abstract: ABSTRACT In the doctoral thesis was analyzed the microporosities formation in the elaboration-casting process of AlSi7Mg0.3 and AlSi10Cu3Mg1Mn alloys, as well as the proper techniques of molten metal treatment (degassing, modification) in order to minimize the amount of these defects in casted products. For the first time was done an evaluation of the content of microporosities with Density Index (ID) determined by VAC-TAST method and by optical-quantitative and electronic microscopy (SEM/EDS and microanalysis). By electronic microscopy (SEM/EDS) was observed the nucleation of micropores on the intermetallic impurities as AlFeMnSi. The experiments were established that under 250 ppm Sr, this modifier element does not influence the microporosities content. The researches confirmed that the VAC-TEST method in combination with optical and electronic microscopy analysis can be applied in industry, with minimum investments, in order to control the quality of Al-Si aluminum alloys.
